J. Kumar Infraprojects secures Rs 334.25 crore contract from NBCC

J. Kumar Infraprojects Limited has secured a major contract worth Rs. 334.25 crore from NBCC (India) Limited. This domestic project involves the development of the Hari Nagar Depot for the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis.

As the sole bidder for the project, J. Kumar Infraprojects will be responsible for the entire design, procurement, and construction of the depot located in New Delhi. The contract includes all taxes, duties, cess, and statutory levies. Notably, the contract price can be adjusted in the future to reflect any increase or decrease in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate applicable to such work contracts as mandated by the Indian government. This win strengthens J. Kumar Infraprojects’ position in the domestic infrastructure development sector and highlights their expertise in executing large-scale projects.

The shares of J Kumar Infraprojects Limited have also delivered multibagger returns to its shareholders in the last one year. During this period, the company’s share price surged from Rs 239.35 on March 20, 2023, to Rs 597.90 on March 18, 2024, representing an increase of about 150% in a one-year holding period. An investment of Rs 1 lakh in this company’s shares three years ago would have grown to Rs 2.5 lakh today.      

Financial Performance

In Q3FY24, the company posted a 14.74% increase in its consolidated revenue at Rs 1218.73 crore compared to Rs 1062.39 crore from the previous year’s corresponding quarter. The operating profit of the company stood at Rs 186.59 crore, while the PAT of the company stood at Rs 82.64 crore, from Rs 71.08 crore last year same quarter. The company has an order book of Rs 16,744 crore as of December 31, 2023.

The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 714.95 and a 52-week low of Rs 229.00. The company has a ROCE of 17.4% and an ROE of 12.4%, with a market capitalization of Rs 4,568 crore.
